The theme was 90's cartoon characters so all the models arrived in costume. This was interesting and proved to be a great challenge in rendering unnatural clothing. Most of the costumes were adult-sized onesies so they had little goofy booties that really stilted what the pose of the figure.

Pickachu looked comfortable and was a good warmup outfit with an iconic character wrapped around a human being. |

The figure on the left cracks me up whenever I see it. Something about the front-butt, the ridiculously skinny legs, and the "aggressive" fighting stance. This is also where I decided to focus on the body and just copy and paste the Power Rangers helmet so I could save time and focus on the figure. In the right image you can see my attempt at drawing the sewn-in muscles of the costume. If it looks puffy and unnatural - that is good - that's what I was going for! |

The Woody outfit was very awkward as it had the least shape. It behaved more like a baggy wrap on the model and really removed any chance to portray much underlying shape. Again copy and pasting the helmet to save time and make comedy. |

I still find drawing people who are drawing to be a better representation of my interests in life drawing. |
